Has anyone ..... ??
Ridden, in part or full any of these routes ??
http://www.bikemagazine.co.uk/Bike8/ I've ridden the north west and north east routes, and they make a nice road ride - but wondering about the two southern routes ?? Though it might be a nice long weekend on the bike ??

although I did not know this bike8 route before, the south-western leg seems to follow the route we did last year to get from North wales to Skipton pretty closely. The main difference is that we went deeper into the peak district to Bakewell from Buxton and than back to Glossop via Ladybower reservoir. I certainly did not have very high expectation of the route, especially the section cutting between Manchester and Leeds. But it turned out to be a really nice route. I'd happily take the same route again.

SE route has it's good bits (Yorkshire, North Lincs and Oxfordshire) but it really is a route you would gain most from riding a Sportsbike. It is also very busy with bikers (and other traffic) as the roads are in/close to much more densely populated areas, unlike the other three parts. The SE section is generally less aesthetically pleasing too.

When I try to download these routes I get an error saying the zip file is invalid.
If anyone else can download them, could they re-post them here? |
