Red face Tail Tidy and LED Light :)

Hi, just thought I'd share a few pics of my back-end tidy-up with everyone. Nowhere near finished yet, still a few problems to sort, such as the indicators flashing too fast, fitting a new relay for them, designing, making and fitting a plate holder, getting a new 7"x 5" plate for it, having a new fender made by a mate and fitting that, then the paintjob/colourscheme, then hopefully fitting some new stubbby carbon cans from SP Engineering. Trying my best to get the rear looking more and more like a 'real' supermoto, so I'm considering removing the undertray and maybe getting a custom exhaust fabricated so that the header runs alongside the engine and the link pipe runs up underneath the subframe, as much out of sight as I can get it to be. Inevitably, money/time/work/her indoors will get in the way at various points but I'm hoping to have created the most heavily modded back-end on an XT by the time it's paid off in 3 years haha. Best laid plans and all that, eh.........
Time will tell though

Lol @Pommie, our local council were meant to come and collect the old freezer and loads more stuff but they didn't (Hull City Council = crap). You can't see the carpets and cabinets in the pic lol... Still get 2 bikes in at a squeeze lol.

The plate I'm going to get is 7"x 5" which is less than the standard 9"x 7" but apparently it's not taking the piss to the point where the fuzz will pull you for it. IIRC, someone said the letters and numbers are only 1/8" less than the ones on standard plates. Time will tell with this mod also lol

Thumbs up Nearing completion...

Hi all, just a quick post to let you all know that I think I've found the cheapest way to tidy up the back end lol, all my tidy has cost me was 17.99 for the LED light. The light and licence plate are held on by 4x 40mm angle brackets I had already from Wickes. Two hold the light onto the subframe and another two are used to hold the plate on. All in all, very cheap, easy to do and very good looking I think and will look even better with a new plate. I think i'm going to go for a 7"x 5.5" now as it fits just right in the recess that the cutting of the original light holder has left.

If anyone wants to do the same mod, I'd be happy to show the steps to doing it. Haven't got any pics atm but could easily take some.

Now all I have to do is get my mate, a boat builder, to knock me up a new fender and get that painted and I'll be very happy with the back end

Re: Tail Tidy and LED Light :)

Here you go. DRC rear lights unit on a custom mount. Also trimmed all excess plastic from the border of a std UK number plate so it fits nice and is plod friendly. You have to trim the rear bit of plastic from the existing under tray to get the whole deal scooched up nice and tight to the tail and obviously making your own custom mount allows you to change your plate angle. All in a pretty easy mod if you have access to metalworking kit.
