Yamaha Luggage

Hi Are the aluminium Yamaha boxes interchangeable between the XT660Z and XT1200Z? Do you need a fitting kit for either? I am thinking about buying a second hand 660 which has Yam luggage fitted. I already have an XT1200 so it would be great if the luggage was the same and the fittings were swappable.
Cheers
Andrew

i dont think they are interchangable, the 660 uses littles rails that they mount on.

Similar look and mounting method, but different boxes - think the S10 ones are wider and the left one is shaped to clear the giant exhaust.

It would almost certainly be possible to make a mounting kit to put the 660 panniers on the 1200. Whether its sensible... you'd have to offer them up to the bike and see.

Just got back from Excel London Bike Show and had a good look at both bikes fitted with Yam luggage. Blast, its clear they cannot be swapped. I may get Givi trekker boxes for the S10.
Thanks
Andrew
