Smile Seat height

I've kind of asked this question with my first newbie post but I hope you don't mind if I ask again. I am very close to committing to buying a XT660Z my only concern is seat height. I am 5' 10'' I have sat on a bike but not been able to ride one. It feels high, I am on tippy toes but this may be ok. I did struggle with my Tiger 800XC which seemed to get taller from the demo bike to my new bike! Also I have heard early XTZ's had higher seats than newer models. Any truth in this?
Money is burning a hole so I need answers fast, fast, fast!!!!

You will be OK! At 5'10" you aren't that short; there are many riders of lesser stature that get on fine with the seat height. You'll get used to it after a while and naturally adapt your riding style, as well as getting on and off it. Plus, the suspension will settle quite a lot over the first 1000 miles (particularly at the rear!)

No. The standard bikes are all the same, regardless of year, apart from the ABS model which is 50mm lower (which was introduced later on, but the ABS bike was only available in the UK for 2011MY)
