Hi im thomas from belgium
Driving a 2006 xt660x
Just bought it with 19000km clocked
But havent had any surging so far no mods
Am i lukky or does this come on sporadic
But wanted to say hi to all on the forum

As far as I know, this problem is either there or it isn't. It doesn't develop over time. If it doesn't surge now, it probably won't do it ever.

For the record, my 2004 did it badly, and my 2006 doesn't.

Hiya and welcome aboard!!! The famous surging can come and go a little depending on the season, I noticed my new (2011) XT660X was brilliant when I got her last August with daily temperatures in the mid 30s, and then surged badly in the winter at a few degrees. But the famous Kev fuel mod cured everything!!!!!

(Now sold on, sob) 2011 Blue XT660X with gold wheels, was 26,500 km.
Engine mods: K&N Stage 1 filter, DNA Stage 2 filter, snorkel removed, Kev fuel mod fitted.
Plus: smoked Puig screen, Yam aluminium sump guard, Yamaha / Acerbis handguards, Givi Trekker aluminium side cases, Leo Vince X3 cans plus Kev front fork mod and Fender Xtender. Just fitted Michelin Road Pilot 3 tyres.

SOLD the XTX for a Super Ten 1200. And just bought a Raptor 700 so staying on here for some tips....

Im 30 years old ,bin true some racers,naked bikes but bought
A xt600e just for fun last summer took it tot austria tot great on and of Road fun ,and loved it ,after i sold it to some poor dude from eastern europe who was travelling on a xt600 from 84 with 130k on the clock ,we traveled a while together true the alps ,he really kept talking about how much he loved his xt and dreamed to get one like it but couldnt afford it,so i sold him mine for peanuts ,but now last week i really mist my thumper so decided for a newer one i found and own a 2006 Oranje xtx complete stock ,but with plans

And tkc80 offroad tyre on the xtx rim ,stil love the dirt roads
