Ohlins - Based on your RR on Advrider, this will be a great craic!

Unfortunately, (for me) your timing is all wrong as I am heading there in April for 6 weeks of wandering/exploring. I would have happily taken the easy option to tour the sights, trails with the added bonus of an interpreter and to have some someone laugh while I test out the "crash-ability" of the XT

Oh well, back to transcribing CS's Morocco Overland into Garmin basecamp for me!

I will definitely be re-reading your report before heading off for more tips and tricks. I wouldn't be offended if you offered any recommendations either

I will probably hit you up for some advice to confirm what I suspect are easier/appropriate pistes that I am considering riding with SWMBO on board. She will be flying in to join me for a few weeks of touring (at the end of my 6 weeks) before flying home and leaving me to wander.

Great tip on Wikiloc - I picked that up from one of your comments a while ago. Google translate gets a work-out when trying to understand what I have found

As for a ride report? I was in the wrong queue when they were gifting out writing skills, Hemingway I am not!

Ohlins, your Morocco trips look awesome. I'm well jealous. That's just the sort of trip I fancy one day.

At the moment I have a trip to the Scottish Highlands and Islands with a mate planned for June, which I'll be doing on the K1300S. I'm back up north in Skye in August for a week, and my plan is to take my recently-purchased XT660R to see how it tours.

I have never, ever ridden off road and am still getting to know my XTR, but "Africa" was one word in my head when I decided to get the bike. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for your reports and, who knows, one day I might get to Morocco myself!

That sounds a great ride....

You'll see from my RReport that another buddy took his KTM990 SM with us...he'd never ridden off road and was able to get onto the trails...He really enjoyed the learning and the expanse of Maroc...so yes...why not some day.
