hello from Sheffield UK
Hi all
Thought I would sign up and gather some useful info from people who know Not bought the bike yet but I'm looking around for a tenere to to use on my planned RTW trip starting in April 2014 Lot's to do before the trip happens, but everything is coming together money wise, I've arranged a 12 month absence from work so all systems go! A bit of background I suppose might be good Been a biker all my life I guess, my dad had Triumph and BSA's when I was a kid .. got my fs1e at 16..(there's an age clue) lol Always had a bike since.. fireblade, r1 gsxr, Did 3 seasons of club racing in the early '00s.. hundreds of trackdays since. But about 4 years ago I sold my 2 gsxr's .. 1 a tuned 1000k4 that I took to the nurburgring a few times and bought a crash damaged 955 Triumph Daytona that I customised and now looks more like a 1050 speed triple. I've had similar bikes to the xt before and rode a klr650 over the pyrenese in 2002 Anyway, enough for now I guess, <yawn> stay with me at the back there! Cheers Mark |

Hello, and welcome.
We've a member on here who took a Tenere around the world a few years ago - Scottnet, Dazzerrtw is currently in south America having already ridden (2 up !!) over Europe, Asia and North America. In both these cases the bikes have shown to be reliable and a good choice. We have members who have done other stuff too, from the Heroes Legend Rally to Big Bike Challenges, all of who will testify to the bulletproof nature of these bikes. They do have some faults and problem areas, but you'll find all the information here somewhere, and once you've dealt with these then you are good to go..... This might interest you -> http://www.xt660.com/forumdisplay.php?f=198 There will be an eclectic mix of bikes and riders, best place to sit down with a beer and get some thoughts or ideas, or just look around at the other bikes and see what people have done.
