Winter Gloves

I know this has already been asked elsewhere, but could we keep this UK climate specific....
Problem: I don't ride much in rain, but I do ride throughout winter. I have some Yamaha bum-basic had guards that do a pretty good job of deflecting most of the wind. i have some Buffalo Tracker cheapo gloves which have now done 2 winters, but are about to fall apart & get cold after 40 minutes at anything below around 8 C. However, they have excellent feel....
So: thoughts please on budget winter gloves, up to 40. Good feel essential. Waterproof NOT priority #1. Good for 5 C up to 1 hour ride.....
I'm ready to consider combinations i.e. inner gloves etc.

Just had a look at Keis website. Really nice stuff, but sadly the budget won't go that far at the moment....

I am now also a convert to heated kit, and like Keith I prefer lightweight gloves with the heated liners. However, before I used these Held winter gloves, which were (and still are) fantastic.

Thumbs up On the cheap

Handle bar muffs and heatedgrips. Might not look too sexy but very effective and allows you to wear less bulky gloves.
A PVC/Polyurethane waterproof overjacket also works a treat to keep wind chill out especially when worn with a decent layer system. 10-ish Primark thermals are bloody brilliant.

I like WEISE Aspen as a winter glove - but sadly they're not available anymore.
Loads on ebay still.
Current pair have done 20k miles + and two winters and look secondhand, but if it's dry I'll still be using them this winter.
I have another brand new pair in stock though. If you choose them... then until they've settled, pull hands out carefully when wet. After they've settled they're OK.
Rob

[EDIT] Seems they've been replaced by http://www.weise-clothing.co.uk/weis...ves/tahko.html
Must get some more
