Footpeg to seat measurement please
After buying and trying about (literally), a dozen or so bikes over the last year, to find the most comfortable for my particular needs, I might be returning to the tenere fold. The single most important thing for me is leg extension - ie I can ride for a very long way without numb bum, but my hip and knee joints ache terribly, very soon, if I can't get a fuller leg extension.
I seem to remember my Tenere was particularly good in this respect. I'm also considering a DRZ400 (suitable modified for touring, though obviuosly not as suitable as the Tenere) and know that the measurement from top of the footpeg to the 'sitting point' of the seat is 54cms. I would very much like to know how that compares to the Tenere (with standard seat) and would be grateful if someone could measure theirs for me. As this is the single most important factor for me, if it's longer, I'd probably go for the Tenere. Just want to check that my memory of the riding position is accurate first! Thanks. |

what height are you probably best is to test ride one. but there are quiet a few people who have moded the seat so that the part you sit on is so many inchs higher than normal, more to normally take out the big dip you sit in and so its more flat like a mx seat

Thanks for that. As my post said, I've already owned an 09 Tenere, so remember it being relatively comfortable. Just wanted to make a direct comparison between it and a few other bikes, in actual seat to peg measurement. It's the same as the DRZ/Versys/DL1000, so will now come down to what bike I want based upon the other considerations - power/mpg/off-roading/tyre choice/luggage, etc
