XTR farkled

A few pics of my almost finished new toy. Bought fairly cheaply,a few made bits , a few second hand and lots of reading and copying ideas from here, ta muchly for that. Had it's first outing and I am pleasantly surprised at how it handles the bumpy bits. The plan is to ride it about this year, break things and improve, then do a few trips next year. p.s. brake line re-routed now!

Thanks folks, rear end is courtesy of a hacksaw and file, rear light is a BSA copy: http://www.wemoto.com/parts/picture/hl-364709/ and the indicators are mounted to a very old givi base plate with a bit of angle ali to tuck them up out of the way. Not totally convinced about the longevity of the indicators but will try my best to road test the set up. The givi racks were a bonus as I have boxes that will fit, but make it as wide as a bus, and soft bags that will also fit.

Great Bike

Hello Hermy

Gret looking bike - Geez they slug you with BIG number plates over there..!!

Downunder we get these little things that dont cause any wind drag on the bike.

Also like the little Virago in the back ground - my wife had the identical bike for about four years - great little commuter for her and we sold it for the same price we bought it for. They keep their value if you look after them.

What tyres are you running ? as It seems I now am in the market for a set of knobbies

Edit: Just noticed the tube in place of the second exhaust - wow thats a REALLY great idea. Fills the gap and balances it out nicely.

Cheers

Cheers, no. plate is a flexi but full size as it is effectively the mudguard now and I ride a fair bit on Salisbury Plain where you are likely to get pulled. Virago is the wife's, 10k miles on a 'p' plate and still on it's first exhausts! She loves the thing and wont hear of me 'upgrading' it for her. Tyres are Mitas EO9 dakar, very new so too early to report really but fine on gravel so far. Tool tube is soil pipe(new) and perfect for carrying loaves of bread.
