Hope this is in the right area but does anyone know if its possible to but the yamaha top box blank keys as ive snapped mine. I cant get a spare cut at a locksmiths/coblers but the only keys mentioned on the yamaha site are supplied with the lock and its for the xt1200 top box...is that the same box??

You need to find a better locksmith. I've had keys made up for all sorts of old locks - a real locksmith will be able to make one for you from scratch. They cost a bit more though.


Not sure about Yamaha spares,, I can't see a reason why you couldn't get a spare key though, but it is Yamaha!!!

Go into your dealer rather than looking at the Yamaha website.

The keys/locks are numbered, so forget ordering a blank, you ought to be able to order a new key that fits.
