Did Zvmx

for those who buy parts at OTR and thought about buying the heavy duty DID 525 ,
this is the one on my bike ... together with wider matching sprockets (47 rear size)

Hi,
I use a similar setup. I use the sprockets of OTR and a EKChains chain 525 UVX. Very strong tensile strength is 4800 kilo gramms.

Whats the advantage of doing this, is it purely strength?

Can you get this set up but keep the same gearing up does one fo the sprockets need to go up/down a tooth?

strength , maybe, but I think the original is more then strong enough for the tenere , it's wear and chain life that's maybe a bit better, since the sprockets and chain is wider and has a bigger contact area ...

one big difference is the noise ,

all my other chains made a rattling noise , now the chain is almost silent ...

I think you can stay to original gearing , I have a 47 in the back ,
and now I think I still easy want to switch to a 14 front , cause I use it a lot for off road and there this will become handy , to let the front jump up a little bit better over small bumps and threes

this is the kit

I presume you can also mail them about getting the sprockets separately

Question DID 525 ZVMX or not?

Pulling this thread back from the past...

I bought a set of OTR 525 sprockets for my 660Z. I hate replacing chains and sprockets and the fact that I do about 2500km (1550 miles) per month this can get costly too.

So is the DID ZVMX a better option. Will it last longer between services. My current chain, JT 520 has a few stuck links and badly stretched at 17000km (10500 miles). Not very happy with the JT chain, so I am going back to DID.

VX2 or ZVMX?

Hi, i use did 520 vx black and gold, did make real quality gear, and supersprox sprockets(been told they last a real good length of time) we shall see!. But as with everything with the ten just comes down to riding style and personal choice, plenty of good chain and sprocket combos out there to deal with the surging and pulsing of a big single..

Question

Thanks jo75

I am sold on DID as my experience with JT (10k miles only) was not all that great.

Now the question is...is spending extra bucks on the heavy duty DID (ZVMX) vs the standard DID (VX2) worth the extra cash?
