Air Filter

Don"t want to ask Kev again so i thought i would ask here ,if you buy the Stage 2 air filter kit do you get 2 filters ? the new airbox side and a replacement for your original Yamaha filter ?

No.

If you buy a Stage 1 you get a replacement top for your air filter, to replace your snorkel

If you buy a stage 2, you get a replacement air filter

If you buy a stage 3 you get a replacement side for your airbox, that has another filter fitted in it.

You can, use a Stage 1 with a foam air filter if you wish, or a K&N, or any other type of filter, including the original.

A stage 2 can be used without a stage 1, but I wouldn't really see the point.

You will also need to either fit a Kev-Mod or a PC-V for the Stage 2 and Stage 3

Thought this photo may help:

Stage 1 - the 'ring' sealing and holding the filter in place (snorkel removed)
Stage 2 - the filter itself under the 'ring'

Kevs fuel mod sat above the stage 1 'ring' and sat in a diy holder.

Stage 3 - air filter element and cover which replaces one of the airbox side covers - not fitted on mine so no photos.

So the question is ,did you notice a gain from all this ? how do you set the "kev" mod up do you check the plug or adjust it to stop back firing ? should i go for a stage 3 ? don"t think i like the idea of the airbox open to the rain etc .Whats the best route to go down .Thanks for your help
