Ok I know this has been discussed before with big name brands suggested, however....has anyone ever thought of using an MT-03 wheel on an XTX??

I've been looking at the parts diagram, looks like the hubs are identical, wondering if it would be possible??

dont think ive heard of it, but as long as the spacing and disc are the same or mod'ed there shouldnt be an issue

Good question, not sure if they are lighter, my main interest in using them would be to run tubeless tyres without doing the bodge of filling in the rim well.

Trouble is finding a pair!

Having done a fair bit with after market wheels,it's the front one you need to make the difference although I realise that doesn't solve the tube problem with the rear,I've been meaning to do some digging into the various options but I know it'll cost me a fortune!!

I know they don't class them as REAL sm's, but we all know how good the XTX is

I'll be interested to see what you come up with,re the XT,I went a long way down the road to buying a 690SMC,I'd no problem with the fact the motor took a little more looking after and maybe a tad fragile,but for me the deal braker was sitting on it,your perched on it like a fairy on a christmas tree!! and the bike has way too much suspension,no wonder the new R has been shortened.

I'll put up with less hp,and have always found the trick is shedding weight weight to make a bike go better,or be it at a cost.

Im afraid alpina do not offer wheels for the XR/XT range...


We do make supermoto wheels for the crf, etc and could supply these but you would need to do some research as to whether supermoto wheels from these bikes would fit your XT


The smallest rear wheels size we do is a 17x5.0 rim


We can offer discount for multiple orders but we would be supplying wheels that you may have to make spacers and bearing sleeves for etc


If the CRF etc moto wheels can be fit to your bike, drop me a line and i will look at the prices

So as you can see I think this could prove to be a difficult mod to sort. I'm still convinced a set of MT-03 wheels could be the way forward.
