Caribou Case Consideration Conundrum..
Hi guys
Ignoring the almost Sun paper like alliteration above, I'm heading towards a set of Caribou panniers http://cariboucases.com/store/?name=Home for my first luggage system on the Tenere, due to tightish budget and the requirement for strong and secure boxes.(Plus i like the look of them on the Ten ) The dilemma is this: Caribou make a 35L and 36L side box with pretty much the same dimensions as each other(give or take an inch of course) but the 35L box is heavier while larger in volume is lighter Pelican 35 liter 20.7 x 17.2 x 8.5 18.9 x 14.4 x 7.7 10lb 4oz Pelican-Storm 36 liter 21.2 x 16 x 8.5 20 x 14 x 7.7 8lb 8 oz Now would you, bearing in mind the sub frame of the Ten at the back, take the 35L with its slightly heavier overall empty weight or take the 36L, while lighter, I`m in danger of filling those extra 2 litres with stuff I dont really need and over weight it anyway? Costs are identical for both sets, so no problem there. I know at least a few of you guys(Scottnet in particular, giving me the idea in the first place - http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?...hlight=caribou have had experience with the Caribous on the Tenere, and wanted your expert opinions? (I`ll be using these with probably the SW-Motech racks due to budget if that helps) thanks in advance Ryben |

Maplins are selling a similar case for 40 per side....check out their website for details. Caribu sell the parts to fit any case ( as long as it's big enough) to any rack. Check out their website.
