KEIHIN FCR on XT660??

Hi,
Has anyone tried to mount on xt660, carburetor Keihin FCR instead of fuel injection?

I don't see any advantages.

A Carb has 6 adjustable A/F settings.

XT660 with a PCV has 280 different adjustable A/F ratio settings. Fuel injection will produce more HP & Torque & you will get better fuel consumption with FI.

I find this interesting.

Anyone know how a carb would effect the ignition? Both the FI and ignition is controlled by the ECU right?

i wondered this myself. i have 2 whopping big carbs off a vtr1000 that would be sweet jetted up. dont know if they would fit and if the cam timing or anything would be different... im not that technical!

(Now sold on, sob) 2011 Blue XT660X with gold wheels, was 26,500 km.
Engine mods: K&N Stage 1 filter, DNA Stage 2 filter, snorkel removed, Kev fuel mod fitted.
Plus: smoked Puig screen, Yam aluminium sump guard, Yamaha / Acerbis handguards, Givi Trekker aluminium side cases, Leo Vince X3 cans plus Kev front fork mod and Fender Xtender. Just fitted Michelin Road Pilot 3 tyres.

SOLD the XTX for a Super Ten 1200. And just bought a Raptor 700 so staying on here for some tips....

Yes if you gonna race in a desert rallye or travel in desert otherwise not so good.

If you travel in Africa then everyone tells you that the vehicles must be simple ie diesel engines must be no turbo and petrol engines carb and not injection, if possible. But in Europe I dont really see the advantage unless you race so you look for maximum power and you dont care about the consumption.
