Try and get to the jumps around the back of the circuit (130mph heading for a right hander)
or just above start/finish and you,ll see Michael Dunlop brushing the bales as he powers down hill out of the lefthander !! enjoy

Funny seeing this having been to the NW for the last 16 years last years weather put the kybosh on it for us,thought about the Cookstown, but at the mo have gone for the Armoy in july(and use the same B+B) that is if we don't have a rush of blood to the head and go to the Mugello GP.
Do us some photo's and tips when you have been, will give us some ideas for the future. |

Yea been there a few years in a row now, great we place if the weathers good. Cant remember much about where we watched from as we always watch from a different place each year and always do the usual ride up on the day and around the track and look out for a spot.
Not sure what where your heading over to the cookstown100 or where your staying but a good route if your getting in from belfast is down the A1 to Banbridge (carrigeway boring), lawrencetown A26 (ok), tandragee A50/A51(fun and if you have time you can go around the tandragee 100 circuit as its only about 2 mile round the road), Armagh A51 (great fun), Cookstown A29 (carrigeway boring) Cant remember where these photos where taken but it will show you how close you can get to the bikes as some of the races

Not a bad trip over, had a look at the Drum Manor Campsite but it was just a field in a public park so ended up at the Shepherds Rest Campsite outside of Draperstown.
Excellent little campsite, just behind a pub, spotless toilets/showers, washer, dryer and a lil cottage with tables, chairs, kettle, toaster, and a lush peat fire. The owner Colin couldn't have been more helpful, on our first night there he heard we'd had nowt to eat, so disappeared from behind the bar and came back with some sandwiches, refusing to take any money. Thursday we had a lie in, then a look around Cookstown before riding round the circuit to find a good spot. Fridays practice was held up a few times with red flags, hopefully no-one hurt?? Saturday we parked in the same spot and had some great views of the bikes, enjoy. |
