Question Fitting higher bars

I have just got myself a nice XT660R which I will ride off road occasionaly. As I am over 6 foot (with a dodgy back) I will be fitting some higher Renthal Enduro bars. When I look at the cables the clutch cable looks to be ight as it is. Can anyone out there tell me if you have to change the cables if you raise the bars??

Not sure on the enduro renthal bars but i fitted a set of renthal street fighter bars and as the bars are closer together (left to right ends) the clutch was fine.

I fitted 30mm high bar risers on my XTR...
Clutch cable only just made it... I would
say 30mm is it with standard length cable..

I dont need more than 30mm so if the throttle cables were fine I will just order myself a longer clutch cable from Venhill. That cable is only just oong enough as it is. If you turn to full lock you can see and hear it straining. I have checked the routing and it is fine.

i have renthal twin wall model 922 they are about 30mm over stock and fit, but they are 1 1/8 so you need new risers too so i added heavy duty ones

Just so you guys know. I fitted the Renthal Enduro High bars last night and the cables DO fit - JUST!!

I will ride it as it is for now but I am going to fit longer cables at some point. Probably standard length plus 50mm.

Thanks for your input guys!

try Venhill in Dorking, just tell them what you want, or send your old cable with details of how you want it remade...they are very quick and do a great job.

I got a new clutch cable...and they fitted much better ends than standard, to keep the dirt out. About 16 , but I live nearby, so no postage!
