Insurance renewal time...

Not on the Tenere, but the TTR, but it's still worth noting.

I got my renewal from JustMotorcycle Insurance, the low cost arm of Carol Nash. These guys were incredibly cheap when they first took to the market, but over the last 3 or 4 years they have crept up, from a starting (TPFT) cost of around 50 it is now over 80. OK so it's 30 and not much more than a full tank of fuel, but it accounts for a 60% rise in cost.

I duly rang them up, went through the usual, "yes I'm married, yes to a woman, yes I have two eyes, etc etc" a few more question, some more answers, then they came back and said, yes, we can cut that price.......

by 1.59..........

So, over to Meercovo for some compare the market.....

Bennets quoted cheapest at 51 TPFT. OK I know they have a crap reputation, but they could also do Comprehensive for only 12 more. Even with the extortionate costs of paying monthly they were still cheaper than JMI. I took the 51

Out of interest, I asked about the Tenere (due in May), last year, through Carol Nash it was over 200, same bike, with all the extras, with Bennets, is coming in at... 75 ! Now I can take allot of bad service for 125, so I reckon Carol Nash, for the first time in nearly 10 years, will be getting the boot.

AND, as I purchased my insurance through Comparethemarket.com, I get a Meerkat toy, currently selling at 20+ on eBay! I guess that makes my insurance around 30. Bargain!

Same here. I was with Carol Nash for years.
Then last year I get the same full comp cover for all 4 bikes with Ebike for 186 less than Carol Nash wanted.

Ten time...

Returned home to a renewal letter from Carol Nash.... Time to renew the insurance on the XT-Z.

With a FREE DNA Protection kit worth a whooping 30, they quoted 228, but have pushed up the excess to 225, from 150. I don't have a big problem with this, but increasingly insurance companies are doing this and keeping quiet (hiding the increase in the policy) so it look like the costs aren't going up - and it really gets on my dander.

So, to my old friends in Meerkovo for a quote....

Oh, that was with 2500 of extras on the bike,, that's a bl00dy scary thing to work out ! nearly as much as the bike is worth. I wonder how many people are under insured.
