Talking Newbie - back to bikes after a long time and onto an XT660R

Hello all,

Just coming back to being a bike owner after 15 years away from bikes and found this site while looking for bike reviews.
I've been looking for a bike for a few weeks, mostly to commute to work on, and considered a few different 600's and a BMW G650GS then this week I was browsing in my local bike shop and they mentioned they had an XT660R being traded in the next day.

I went back for a look and an hour later was riding home on this

it's an '05 bike and has only done 6k miles. Seems to be standard except the last owner peeled all the stickers off for some reason? Think he preferred the 'stealth look'

Just started looking round the site - looks like there is a lot of info on here so appologies in advance for the inevitable stupid questions I'm bound to have!

Hi and welcome to the forum

Looks like youve got a nice bike there boss.

The standard stickers peel off easy so dont worry stealth mod is better.

Hiya and welcome it never leaves you the biking bug once you have had a bike it lurks in the back off your mind waiting to bite. You have chosen a fantastic bike though I have had several bikes over the years and can say hand on heart the yam is a cracker I have xt660x colour blue. Some say blue is the faster colour who knows?

Talking Welcome Back

Hi mate, know how you feel. Managed to convince my Missus that I needed a bike to save money on petrol (he he he). Just got back from a blast, and feeling on top of the world. Welcome & enjoy, Boneman
