Carsten here. I have just picked up a used and totally stock 2008 XT660R with only 2000km on the clock. Moved here 2 weeks ago from Houston/TX were i had a 93 BMW R100R for 6 years. Before that an 84 R80G/S for 14 years (passed it on to my brother in law), an 83 SR500 for 7 years and two XL500 for 3 years. Tried hard to find another G/S here but no chance and looked at two XT500s but too tatty to be used as daily riders right away. Still want to restore one one day... Have to get used to all the modern gizmos and plastic on the XT660 but i really like her so far. Will look around here and may come back with some questions. First thing tomorrow is to try to adjust a slightly richer fuel mix. The surging is not too bad but certainly noticeable.

seems like 10 up from the original CO1 of 15 is the best setting so far. Not perfectly smooth yet but absolutely acceptable. Will play around with the TPS setting next and probably the throttle mod too. Really like the bike and LOVE Perth
