First spin of the year & my xtx is sick !

Decided as the weather here was good, i,d take the xtx out for a short spin round the roads. all was going ok until about 3 miles out, on changing down it just died ! restarted fine but under power it just splutters and cuts out then goes a few hundred yards ok, then splutters and bangs again. ticks over and revs ok when stood still. It was going fine when i parked it over winter, what im thinking is could condensation have gotten into the tank somehow? its behaving like theres water in the fuel ? i intend taking the tank off tmw and draining the fuel out, how do i get the fuel to flow from the tank? as theres no tap there. cheers for any thoughts on this. T

Not sure, but does the tank not form a vacuum when closed?

Have you tried opening the filler cap with the pipe off?

Havent tried anything yet, hope to start tmw. Im wondering if i need to take the throttle body off as well and blow it out with an airline? forgot to add that the bike is bog standard, only mod is a pair of MTC cans and a scottoiler.

Think the only way to drain the tank is to take the whole tank off and turn it upside down due to the fuel pump only allowing fuel out when you have it plugged into the bike and started.

Best way i would say is to get a tube and do the old school siaphan it out

Angry

so the fuel pump only works when the engine is running this is gonna be fun !! Theres not much fuel in it so i might try rigging up a sqeezy bottle to the pipe to generate a vacum, getting the throttle body off may be the biggest job ? we will see tmw cheers.
