Where to buy Yamaha spares

Until i got my 660R a couple of months back I had only had hondas for the past 7 years. For Honda spares - cables, filters, etc I would use David Silver a Honda mail order specialist. Is there a Yamaha equivalent? Googling it didn't come up with anything obvious, but I am full of whisky!!

Wemoto for service items and common spares.

For the less common stuff I've had pretty good service from AJ Sutton. They've got the parts diagrams on their site so it's pretty easy to find the bits you need.

ajsutton is a very good source of reference in finding out names of parts. Saves bugging the local yam dealer

Well I have many years of experience of purchasing Yam parts for my fleet of 5 Yams from Alf England ( www.alfengland.co.uk) they are main dealers for both Yamaha and Suzuki and I find their service fantastic. They also run www.yamahaclothing.co.uk and have almost everything Yamaha have ever made!! Bye, Simon

Thanks guys, but I have had nothing but trouble using Wemoto. 3 out of the 3 the items i have bought from them have had to go back. I know others who rave about them but thats my experience. I will be having a look at Sutton's. Cheers

may I ask what was the problem you were having with wemoto ?

I must have been lucky as I have used them for 3 different makes of bike and aways found them to get the parts to me in less than 48 hours and never had a wrong or faulty part from them.

1 Clutch lever for son's bike badly made with the "toe" that should have activated the switch not long enough. Replacement came quick enough but was roughly cast and in poor condition. I asked for a refund.

2. Head bearing set for my transalp - wrong set sent - completely different part number. Replacement set had damaged packaging and needle bearings falling out. I never did return as I went to David Silver.

3. Flasher unit for my Transalp. Non functioning on delivery. Got a freebie in the end via a member on XRV.org so got my money back.

Customer service is ok I suppose but 3/3 failures isn't good. I might give them another go and see how they fare with Yam parts.
