RTW on my xt660z in lots photos & a few words...

i started in March 2011 and i think the best way to describe my trip and not get in to too many words is this.

"I haven't been everywhere but its on my list!"

...but if you do want to read a blog and learn about, being driven off the road in Bolivia, kidnapping in mexico, hanging out with an Indian tribe in British Columbia and fishing with them and catching an 88lb halibut, being the one person on the summer solstice camping the furthest north on the planet (just because), seeing a very very rare blonde grizzly bear in the wild, hanging out with gold miners in Alaska and much more then click here for a link to ADVrider for the blog http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=668901

or if you just like looking at pictures scroll down...i will be adding new photos on a regular basis

the route...red line is done

i started in Ushuaia Argentina so that's where the photos will begin

What's wrong with Brazil and China?

Looks to me you are really trying to go everywhere, like all the way through Russia and then back, seems a bit unlogical, but then again, why should it be.
All the best on the rest of your trip, I will be on my own trip, following your line through Africa from next week.

Tony

Argentina - Ushuaia

The website will be up soon, just another thing i have to get around to doing...for now all photos are posted here, any questions let me know?

Flying into Buenos Aires

going over the Faukland Islands

get to Ushuaia and find out my bike is delayed for about one week, so some time to see what Ushuaia has to offer...great views of the end of the world

custom cars!!!

Irish bars, there are two, this would become my home!!

boat rides to see penguins and seals

cute little houses

ushuaia is not a place you want to be for a week, a day or two at most , after two days this is how you feel

then the container ship finally arrives

its time to leave the end of the world...

my starting mileage

Russia and back because the logical route from Vlad is to go to Korea or Japan then the States...i live in the states, done it...all of it, so i head back to the Uk for Visa/ family etc

one thing i didn't mention is i plan to be on the road for about 15 years, so i have time, lots of it

China, right now on your own bike is very difficult, you can do it sometimes with a guide but they cost about $200 per day, or on a local bike, thats a maybe in the future

thought i'd throw you a few more seeing its a weekend...when i'm coming thru England, i have to stop by and meet some of you guys and share a few beers and stories...be there next summer

after staying up at 12,000 feet in a hostal and outside it dropped to -10 F at night it was time to increase elevation even more

as the altitude got higher the track got worse and worse

then all of a sudden blacktop, what a relief after the inconsistent sand/ gravel/ rock mix

then we dropped altitude and small villages started to appear as we headed towards La Paz

rolled towards La Paz, about 40 miles outside the city limits came across a traffic jam, 20 MILES of stationary vehicles

what could possibly be stopping all this traffic...this...and this is boulders for about 5 miles, the smoldering pieces are burning horses heads, think what that smelled like!!!!

next was this, riot police, we were told not to take photos as we could be arrested!!! so i took a sneaky one

a little bit of off road, and then into the worlds highest capital

somewhere down there is where i'm staying!!!

oh, and the riot it was about money, adjustments to the minimum wage, it had been going on a week and would continue for another week after i left, because of this i didn't get to ride Death Road (Yungas road and south Yungas road) because on that side of La Paz you could get out of the city but not back in!!!
