Yes the rack is the Ventura system and the pack is a w/proof backpack that i modified the straps on. I have another that I clip on to the front side when needed.

Great riding up there we had 4 bikes 1 xt660R 2 xt600 1 Dr 650 did the Waiwera to Cape circuit last month with as many gravel and beaches we could do in 3 days great fun 1180 ks.

I saw three bikes just like you described as I was stopped on the Whangaroa side of the Kaeo bridge. I was on a black XT660R.
Maybe that was you. Late on a Sunday arvo.

Nice pics there sport....

I live here in Doubtless Bay so getting a nice shot is not that difficult. We moved here late 07 and although it's a bit sleepy in winter the long summers make up for it. Don't know to many adventurebike riders so if anyones coming this way and needs a free local guide give me a holler. I know the area well.
