HG heated grips

Hi all,

just had to blast to a funeral in Germany and back. Nearly lost my fingers from cold on the way over as it got close to freezing. So first thing was to search for some heated grips. I remembered HG offering some in the UK for 45. Off to a rather large and much better stocked than UK shop i went. To my amazement the exact grips were on sale for only 29 Euros! Bargain!!
There you go, another mod and toasty warm fingers at a bargain price.
Only thing is, why are we in the UK expected to pay so much more for the same gear?

You should have got some handlebar muffs as well to get the best from the heated grips. Tucano in my opinion are the best as the are fully waterproof and fleece lined, I use just summer gloves all year round, bring on the cold!

Beats me. In the past I have bought stuff from http://www.hein-gericke.de and had it posted to the UK - they were happy to do so.

I bought a Tuareg suit in their sale at less than half the price it would have cost in the UK.

If they're the Daytona ones, they're excellent - and made in Japan as opposed to China. Been very impressed with them.
However, I did see a pair in the local HG bargain basket this March for a tenner and (why) didn't buy them! Now got another new bike and need grips again
I got mine last year from ebay for about 30. I see they're 45 in HG at the mo... but for some reason dearer than that off ebay

I bought an extra set of KTM guards and chopped off the wind deflector part, this makes the profile much smaller but does support the fron of the muffs and stops wind blast from pushing on the levers and your hands. This also keeps the muff off the back of the hands and consequently allows warm air to stay around your hands. During the winter once the heated grips have warmed up the bars I usually turn them DOWN despite the cold!

PS I have the cheap two stage setting hot grips which just have a rocker switch to operate them, simple and cheap, but effective.
