XTZ Waterpump leak advice
After 16,000 miles I've had my first proper problem with the Ten. Discovered a little coolant under the waterpump housing, and the dealer suspects wear/failure of an internal seal. Reading on here it sounds like this isn't a particularly rare issue with the 660cc engine. The bike's still under warranty so a new pump is on the way which I'm happy about.
The question is: given this weekend is looking to be a fantastic one, and that coolant isn't exactly gushing out, what are the risks of going for a little ride?? Is it likely that the pump will just let go spectacularly, depositing the contents of my coolant tank all over the back wheel, or is a leaking seal something that gets gradually worse?? |

Have to admit that was my first though too. Just wondering if anyone can give a little techy insight to put my mind at ease |

Just keep an eye on the coolant level in the over flow tank, make sure the tank is at the full mark before riding.
