I'm no expert but check these links.

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Why_do_you...to_the_coolant

http://autorepair.about.com/od/autor...antifreeze.htm

Personally I would drop whats in there at the moment and refill with fresh. I would not worry about the car/motorbike senario - coolant is coolant or should I say antifreeze is antifreeze?
Have you a leak in the system???

thanks for the reply
no ı dont have a leak ın the system ım guessıng ıt was just used up a bıt because of the extreme temperatures and hard work ıve been puttıng the bıke through (turkısh coastş off roadıng ın cyprus and ıraq ıs obvıously boılıng!)

so you wouldnt mıx the two then...?
and so ıf ı empty the current motorcycle coolant and refıll ıt wıth car antı freeze you dont thınk that would cause any sort of problem?

thanks agaın

The only reason I would drop whats in there and fill with fresh is a belt and braces approach - you know that you have the right concentration of coolant (antifreeze v water) after refilling.
If you have time on your hands and can wait, somebody like kev will be along to give you an expert opinion.

If its just a top up then use water. The mix isna crucial and you can always add when back in civilisation. Unlikely you will get much below - 10 degrees over there. Coolant is coolant. Just add coolant of the same colour.

+1 on jimmysimsons if you are topping up go with the colour otherwise a 1.1 mix water+ ethylene glycol with aluminum corrosion inhibitor [as stated in the manual]
