Your expert advice and knowledge required please.

Hiya all,
I have the chance of buying an 2008 xtr I will not ride whilst salt down but will ride in wet weather. I have read some horror stories about elctrics being exposed. But have also read about you guys riding through really bad wet weather with no problems.

Would this put you off? should I worry or just buy?

Thank you for any advice Ranger6

I had an 06 XTR for nearly 4 years and rode it through all year round. The electrics are no worse than on some other bikes.

The only suggestion that i would say is if you get the bike under the left hand side of the tank is the main wiring harness which has alot of connectors on it. A bit of silicone around the connectors should stop any of the water getting in around the connector.
