Maxxis tyres

has anybody had these tyres and what do you think.

I have recently fitted a Diablo Rosso to the rear (great tyre so far) and the bike had its MOT yesterday. I knew the front tyre may fail, but with funds being tight, I thought I would try a Maxxis.

Took the bike out last night to scrub it in a bit. I know you are supposed to take it easy for the first hundred miles or so, but I couldn't resist finding out how sticky they were gonna be. I wasn't dissapointed!! Didn't tip the bike far enough to scratch the pegs, just in case, but the grip it offered even when cold was great. I have heard that I might not get too many miles out of em though.

Thanks Chester,

I feel a little happier now. I had been quoted up to 120 for a Rosso 2 tyre for the front and I got the Maxxis for 71 with free fitting, because I was having it MOT'd aswell.

Is it me, or are tyre manufacturers/retailers taking the p1$$ when it comes to bike tyres? My Mrs drives a Mini Cooper S and the tyres on that are low profile run flats and they cost less than I paid for my Diablo Rosso.

I'm assuming its the sports version you've got. In Performance Bikes they sent Guy Martin out on various tyres and the Maxxis performed just as well as the more expensive tyres. I'll be sticking them on my xt soon for sure. Alot of people on here don't use dedicated road tyres so don't expect to many replies.

Thumbs up

maxxis sport tyres work real good in dry and wet conditions but in cold weather take your time for a mile or so .
