Denali d2 lights

Hey all.
Just bought a set of Denali d2 led lights to attach to the tenere. They arrived in the post today. Have been playing around with them this arvo just trying to get the cables to fit in nicely. Have turned them on and they are properly bright. About 70% brighter than the vision x ones apparently although I have never seen those ones on. Will post pics when I get it finished.

Where did you buy these from ??

I can only find them on Twistedthrottle.com, and at $350 without mounts they sound a little expensive, especially when import taxes are added..

I did get these from twisted throttle. They come with a general mount but not a specific one. In aus we only pay import tax on anything over $1000 and with prices of shipping these ended up costing ne the same in aus dollars as the vision x would have. We pay heaps for everything if we buy locally.

I have the Vision-X or X-Vision (can never remember which is correct), I bought them second hand, and I'm glad I did because I just don't think they are worth the money. So I'm interested to see what you think of these lamps.

The big problem with LED spots is getting the light onto the road, yes they look very very bright to look at, but for some reason they are just not as good as 'real' lamps for seeing where you are going. I foresee a big leap in LED lamps over the next year or two, where we could see (yep, that was a pun) improvements in getting the light onto the road.

I also think we'ss get more choice, and at lower prices too.

Well they can certainly throw out the light. They come with the option to tap into the High Beam so that they are emitting at 40% on low beam and full on high but I decided just to wire them up so they are always on full as most of my riding is done with lowbeam on. They were far to bright to look at like this so I've since tapped into the highbeam for the variation.
The light they throw is is somewhere between a spot and a flood but it's very predictable so easy to set correctly. They throw light further down the road than the stock headlights, with just the Denali's on there is more light on the road than with just the headlight on which I was not expecting.
There are two things I don't like, they are the switch it ships with, feels very cheap and doubt that it will keep water out, second is the bulkyness, I've had to remove the fusebox I put in to fit all this in so not I need a new place for my fusebox. Will look further into that next weekend.
I'll put pics up when I learn to use this new camera (bought me a nikon d90 for a tax time present as my old camera died last week, still learning how to use the thing though.)
