Tour X2/X3
Looking at getting a new lid, was hoping to have a look at the Shoei Hornet, but as there's such little interest in this type of helmet nobody stocks them...order only with a commitment to buy
I've used Arai Tour X2's for the past 5 or so years, so I've decided to get a TourX3, question is whether the mould/lining is the same on both models. I'll be ordering from the States so will need to be sure it's a perfect fit. My TX2 is a medium 57/58, can anybody who has used both lids confirm that the sizing is the same? Thanks

Also, as mentioned above I'll be ordering from the states so it'll be an Arai XD3 (that's what they're called over there)...I'm guessing they come out of the same factory moulds in Japan?

Hey Denny - I have both (size M) and confirm the fit is the same...
Infact I bought my XD3 while I was in the States too... they are exactly the same as the UK version, however be aware that a US helmet won't be E marked, it will only have the US 'DOT' marking on it rather than the EU markings and ACU Gold sticker you'd get on a UK model. In practice it doesn't matter - unless you want to go racing with it in the UK when you'll might 'technically' need an ACU sticker - although anyone who knows that helmet, knows it meets all the safety standards, and plenty of helmets that have been painted have the original stickers removed anyway... As far as the extremely unlikely event that you get stopped and inspected by Plod, either they won't realise, or if they are clued up, will know it is the same helmet anyway... If you get any crap, tell them that "Jenny says she raced to Dakar with an XD3, and if it's good enough for the FIM it should be good enough for them!" If that does't work, punch them x Jx |

Seeing as I'm in Turkey though I probably wont get any hassle from the law, but my preferred option is to drop down a gear or two and haul ass Many thanks for the info re lids too
