Basic things to look at & common mods

Hi, all I am just about to pick up my new bike Xt660x 54 plate 5136 miles FSH. It was just serviced at 5000 miles. Having had bikes for over 20 years I know my way around them but what in particular should I be watching out for, it is a standard bike apart from a pair of Quill cans.

What are the sort of things I should be doing to improve the bike overall, engine and handling wise - ie what has everyone else done to their XT's.

hi and welcome to the forum, the mileage is really good for the bike you buy, if you have allready the cans, you should consider some air filters, k&n or the much loved by the xt forum - the DNA stage 1 and 2, kev's fuel mod,.........so many things you can add, just have a look at the mod list, and the most important - enjoy the bike. i have an xtr, it's my 8th bike in 3 years - but i have this one since january 2010 - done 12000miles with it, i love it and seems that i'm going to keep it. again, welcome to the forum and enjoy

Don't forget that a small subscription fee gives you access to the Ask Kev section(plus much more), he knows a little bit about these bikes too
