Thumbs up Auxiliary LED lights from Ebay

hello guys,

it's been a while since I contributed, so here it goes.

I found in the topic about the auxiliary lights (I think) a link to an ebay item:

LED Daytime Running Light 20W 1500LM Rover BMW Lotus MG

They're sold 29.90pound for one.

They look great and well, I bought 2.

Since I had the mounting bracket already installed (thx to a member of this forum), I just had to remove the halfords Ring fog lights I had previously installed (pictures here).

They're provided with 41inches/1m (approx) of good wire.
They come very well packed and apparently individually tested the day before shipping.

They look and feel durable but good looking too.

Without further due, the result:
(pictures taken with my Blackberry, sorry for the poor quality for night shots)

Standard low beam :

Low beam + LED lights:

Standard high beam:

high beam + LED lights:

LED lights only:

Close up:

less close:

And a final crappy one with the flash :

and the switch/wiring:

I've yet to try them "on the road".

Comments ?

Miles better! I had PIAA plus Hella De's on my GS and the pair of the above are as powerfull as both put together plus light, LED so less pwer draw and more of a white light.

Ive seen a few threads from different forums and these always seem to come up in the lights threads. They seem to be cheap and still do a good job.

much better than the halfords:

+ aluminium (halford are crappy alloy painted> Mine are rusted under the paint, which is flaking)
+ smaller, less bulky
+ LED: lower power draw, impervious (or so) to vibration

plus they're provided with excellent cable and connectors + clamp

But I've not used the bike yet with them...

Yep mine work great. I have a 100w (blue) high beam fitted as well. My lamps are angled so one lights up the road in front on the bike, ie the bit the main beam misses and the other lights up further ahead. The general light they through out lights up the whole road and the trees. I saw a owl on the way home on wed night..

I'm a bit slow catching up with this thread.

I too have the same lights and they'll go onto my H&B engine bars when my brackets are done. I have GULG's loom.

Pic's will follow and the light on the road looks impressive.

Wiring

hello Zou:

After waching your post, I decided to buy the led lights. They arrived to my house on friday.Look great! I feel hungry for installing them,
However I would ask you if you could be more precise and detailed for the wiring and installation process.
I also have a socket connector in my bike and I wonder if you use it for the installation.

Another question, the led lights only go with the bike started ? or are directly connected to the battery... Danger of running out of energy sooner or later ..??

Thanks

Jaume from Barcelona.

hello,

I'm using a fuse box.
So they're powered only when the iginition is on and if the switch is on.
basically:

except that my switch is inline on the red/white wire above.

Zou

I have the same lights with one of GULG's looms. They work with ignition on only and the loom is very nicely made..
