Has anyone tried a metalmule bash plate?
![]() Ignore the engine bars. I was wondering if anyone has used the bash plate? It seems to cover the water pump and provide quite a bit of protection. Quite tall at the front too it covered the base of the rectifier. Any thoughts on it? |

SteveD's was the very first bash plate from MM for the Tenere - and it was 'normouse.....
He'll be along soon to say whay he swapped it. They are very 'industrial' though

Mine was the first prototype for MM and was butt ugly, didn't cover the water pump and the profile did not follow the lines of the engine. The mountings kept cracking and needed constant repair so its off and replaced by an Adventure-spec one.
The MM one in the pic also looks fragile where the perfortions are and I suspect that the rear mouint is still alloy. The square edges certainly will not allow it to slide over obstacles rather catch methinks! Steve

Thanks for that. I shall bow down to superior knowledge and cross that off my wish list.

If you don't want to go for the adventure spec one the OTR one is neat and well tested.
