Non slippery Footpegs?
In the last days i lost the grip on the original pegs with my boots a few times.
i would like to get some "bolt on" cross pegs for my bike but just found these from touratech http://shop.touratech.se/SE/Catalog/...40-5508-0.html but these are quite expensive (ca 200pound) do somebody know some nice pegs wich are bolt on? |

Those are Pivot Pegs, different to regular pegs mate.
There are some (much) cheaper alteratives available on ebay, which require very little or no modification. There are a few threads on them here, including one started by Midlife, can't find it though. Here's another that might be of help... http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?...highlight=pegs

I got a set of those cheap ebay pegs. Lots of grip compared to stock and much bigger. Used them on a honda XR as well and they withstood some pretty hard falls. Great value for the money. I'll be sure to get a decent set of pivot pegz one day but these will do for now.

Yep, they are good indeed, no probs to report for the three odd years I've had them fitted

Another one with ebay pegs here, fitted a few weeks back and pretty happy with them so far. I did have to drill a hole in one of them for the end of the spring - they'd made them as perfect mirror images, when actually both the springs are wound in the same direction. Once fitted they're good.
That said, I never had trouble with *grip* with the original Tnr pegs once I took the rubbers off. They were just a bit small to stand on for any length of time.

There are some pegs on eBay.co.uk right now ->
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Foot-Pegs-90-0...item20b7bbb486 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MOTOCROSS-FOOT...item35aedfb9cc http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Moose-Racing-P...item41552de00b http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamah...Q5fAccessories These sometimes bolt straight on, other times (like Uberthumper & myself) a small locating hole needs drilled in them for the spring. I have these pegs on my TTR, and they are pretty good, well I've never slipped off them anyway. Don't expect quality but they are perfectly servicable and strong. You might need to treat them to a coat of paint once a year if you like to keep your bike nice and clean. I also have Pivotpegz (on the Tenere), and they are realy good quality although do require servicing once a year as the name suggests they 'pivot' This makes them very comforatble for long periods of standing time as they allow the bike to move under your feet but you still keep realy good contact with te bike and get lots of feeling through them. If I was choosing between the cheap pegs and the pivotpegz, for a bit of light trail riding lasting maybe a few hours a week, I'd go for the cheap ones. If I was spending long periods standing, then I'd opt for the Pivotpegz. Both are great at what they do.

Hi
Have you found any pegs yet to replace the standard rubber ones? Ed

I had FastWay footpegs on my KTM 950:
http://www.promotobillet.com/catalog...Path/23_99_105 Might require some mods to fit on XT, but then maybe not. But those are the best footpegs i've ever used, they are very wide so it is much easier to ride standing and the teeth can be changed, depending on how you want it to grip. |
