chain roller

can any of you guys help me on my way home from work today i could here like a metalic sound did wory abit but when i got home i found that the rolley under my chain was missing thought great then i remembered there is a spare one bolted to the frame just by the exhaust now i have looked on ebay and there is loads on there for yamaha does anyone know the diameter of the roller? as the one by exhaust looks bigger

That is not a spare! - its to stop the chain hitting the frame/exhaust if you fully compress your suspension (like landing a jump, or perhaps more realistically, going over a really big bump!)...

I'm not near my bike right now, otherwise I'd measure the lower roller for you, but I'm sure someone will be along soon with the diameter...

Alternatively, you could just order and OEM one from a Yamaha dealer - on the whole I've found plastic parts are not that expensive OEM (this might be the one that is though!)

is it the same dimensions as the one on the frame? can i not just use that one as there is no way my chain will touch that one way up there as my suspension is high on max setting and all the 4 years i have had me bike its never hit it as there is no marks on there from the chain

It should fit ive read on here that someone else used theres to replace the bottom one but i would replace it anyway.

Ive only ever had my top one move a couple of times but then again i was playing rough on some bouncy roads!!!!! Bouncey Bouncey Bouncey

ive fitted it and it does roll when chain goes round will buy new ones just that i need one for the mot so have to really use the top one. hopefully someone will pop up soon with dimensions of original
