Trax Panniers table

I've seen this cool pick nick table thingie in the Touratech catalogue:
Of course this only fits to their own Zega panniers.

I haven't found anything readily available for my Trax panniers. But I can't imagine it can be too difficult to bodge up something myself. I just need to make sure it is small enough to fit inside the pannier for caryiong. And to create "hooks" that fit nicely into the slots on my panniers for a stable table.

But before I dive in I was just wondering if anyone on here had already attempted a similar thing? It could save me some measuring and testing work

could it double as the base to your rear rack?

This is what I am doing...on a XTR H&B Rear Rack I am making a base 55x30cm out of 5mm Alloy to which some kitchen cabinet legs attach to, to convert it into a table when it is removed from the rack.

The table will only be 15cm high, but it will fit in my new tent nicely as well.

I am doing this at the moment, so pics when it is done.

I'm using the Trax Evo 37l side panniers.

My idea was to use them both for support and have an aluminium plate that can be carried inside one of the panniers as table top between them. No need for separate legs, takes up very little space in the pannier and offers a pretty large table area.

that sounds ideal for dinner parties, and more formal occasions
