Hi all.
Went on a weekend trip recently & on our way back the bike started making a very strange noise coming from the front sprocket area. It almost sounds like the chain is running at an angle... a strange grinding sound. I've checked tensoin, lube, etc. The copper-like "guide" on the inside of the front sprocket cover is slightly (very slightly grinded) Any suggestions of what it could be or what else I can take a look at?

If you are happy that the chain is ok and both sprockets are secure and also ok - loosen the chain off and check for play in the drive shaft bearing by grabbing the drive sprocket and focing it up/down and side to side.
