Glowing downpipe !!

started my xtx yesterday in the garage, just to let it warm up for a bit, but after 5 mins at tickover i noticed the right hand side exaust downpipe was starting to glow a cherry red colour!! the other one was fine. bike is bog standard 07 model with original pipes. anyone got any idea whats wrong? dont know if its done it before, just noticed it as it was nearly dark. cheers T

they do glow, but are you sure that both headers weren't glowing ?

Doesn't sound out of the ordinary. I wouldn't leave any vehicle standing to 'warm up' anyway. Start it up and ride off, ride carefully for about 5kms in order for it to warm up properly.

There is nothing wrong with the headers glowing, its fine and wont hurt it at all.

happens with all bikes if run in the dark and not moving, - would expect both headers though.
