Tenere Tank removal (total)

Hi there, I have had a look but have found only partial removal. Can anyone give me a step by step how to for total tank removal on my Tenere 09? I am shipping my bike and need total drainage. Oil is not a problem obviously but I just need to know if there are any caveats to doing this.

Thanks all and look forward to hearing from you.

From memory as I dont have the bike now and only had it off a couple of times.
Remove grey plastic side protection pods.

undo the large /long allen head studs at the front on each side (under the side pods)

remove rear mounting strap under the seat.

Maybe remove plastic ignition lock cover (it seems to interfere with movement of tank when removing. (remember to replace loosely before refitting tank.)

Lift up tank to pull off breather pipe (left hand side near throttle body)
Remove both electric plugs to fuel pump, note which went where (different colours)
unclip the fuel pipe retaining clip from tank end of fuel pipe. Take lots of care with this as its easy to break.
Remove fuel pipe from tank end.
Jiggle and wiggle tank upwards and backwards to remove.
Note the tank has radiator shrouds attached on each side at the front that can interfere with bits like the radiator cap etc and its can take a bit of wiggleing to get it clear. alternative is to remove them from the tank ... I never did but found the ignition cover did need to be removed (note you cant refit this after the tank is back on so remember to locate it 1st)....

Reverse procedure to reinstall
watch out for the front mounts rubber bungs coming adrift as these will make fitting the bolts a touch harder than you'd like.

Took mine off the other day to fit the wires for the heated grips. What a load of nonsense, yamaha should takes some lessons from euro bike makers. It took bloody ages to get it off compared to my ktm or old Ducati.

Remember to empty your fuel out, before removing tank, to lose weight.
