Confused

Rode around today to see if the surging would stop because I installed the DNA stage 1 airfilter.

Actually it got worse.
Next to that my Leovince X3 exhaust stopped backfiring.
(don't know what that means but I liked the backfiring )

So I pulled my sparkplug to see that it was dry and black.
That would mean it is running to rich (i think).
But why do I have a problem with it now After installing the new airfilter.
To me it does not make sense.... but I ain't a mechanic.

More air = leaner the Air/Fuel ratio. You will not cure the surging completely but with a good A/F ratio the ride can be improved upon.

I would recommend a custom made fuel map using a Power Commander.

The stg 1 filter will allow more air into the engine so to get it back to the way you like it you need to put some more fuel in. You can change your CO read out (look at kevs signature below his post about mods) this will change the fuelling on the bike slightly but nothing great.

Next would be to either buy a kev fuel mod (about 40 if i remeber correct) or a Power commander (from 300 or so up to 500 including time on the dyno, fuel etc etc). Both have plenty of information on the site about.

I am planning a PCIII and DNA stage 2 for next year.
mostly because I want a POV 1.5 first
But anyway I was just confused at how the bike was feeling and how the spark plug looked.
