Givi side case

OK guys, early days yet but I've been browsing around for side luggage for the XTX for some roadtrippin this summer.

I've spotted one of our members ( stefanpriftis) with a pair of Givi T411 (think thats their name) which looked pretty nice and useable. I was going to send him a PM but noticed that he hasnt posted once since joining in October. See links...

When I called my local Givi dealer I was told that soft sling over side luggage dont work with the XTX and that I will need to get some hardcases with the frames. I dont want the hard cases cos a) I think they look poo and b) they cost A LOT!!

Has anybody had experience with these, or can enlighten me with any relevant information?! Ta very much

you really want me to express my opinion on luggage on this bike?

ask yourself this question: would you put a roof rack on a porsche?

you wouldn't? then take the train mate, or use a car and keep the bike for raw hooliganism!!!

Each to their own I'm not keen on them either(messes with my mojo)which is why I'm after the sling over cases so they will be off the bike when I get to where I'm going, allowing me to be a hooligan in unchartered territories

If I ever own a porsche (which I wont) I'll slap on a roof rack, tie a goat on them and post some pics just for you

Denny, do you have afermarket cans on your XT? If so, they run cool enough to use throwover panniers. I have some oxford ones. They are a ***** to fit securely, but they work OK. (Just try and avoid the header pipe connections to the cans, they run fackin' hot!)
