Bash plates and centre stands

Hi Guys
Wanted to know if any one has fitted a Large Touratech Bash Plate
as I am interested to know where it mounts to at the rear. I am aware
of all the Yamaha Genuine Acessories issues with breaking mounts and
in my case the frame so am going to go aftermarket for a skid plate.
Saw how the OTR one mounts and that looks ok but was leaning towards
Touratech as they are now set up in Aus and I can save on postage.
Also will a centre stand still fit if one of the above mentioned skid
plates is fitted?
All info appreciated
Thanks

I have an SW motech bash plate and centre stand.
The bash plate probably uses same mounts as the touratech ones.
It's the rear mount that is also used with the stock bashplates.

I dont think the centre stand is going to hit anything

Luke, i dunno if your aware or not but in bendigo is B & B offroad product's have a bash plate with or without engine bars
http://www.bboffroad.com.au/xt_660_z_tenere1.htm

Given a touracrap one would come from Vic anyway the postage cost would be the same... just another option for you and the B&B plate gives better waterpump protection than the TT one does.

Cheers
Reg.

Bash plates

Thanks for all the info, yeah I've seen the B & B ones but did wonder
about restricted air flow around the engine with a solid sheet of
ali like that. As for the Adv Spec ones with a built in crash bar, nice idea
but with such a poor experience with the Yamaha ones, (Bike got completely
reframed and was in the shop for 9, YES 9, months) I don't think I could do
it to myself again. Looking for just a skid plate, working on the fact that
with this set up, any problems will allow the ali to break before the steel
frame. Thats the reason for leaning towards touracrap as you call it.
Does anyone own one of these???
And Nells, is the SW centre stand pretty good? I've only seen the Yamaha
ones.

No prob's with air flow with the B&B one mate! i have one on my ten and the fan has never come on even in mid summer. Afterall she's water cooled anyway.

got a TT bash plate, rear mounting same as stock, front mounting uses extra brackets (supplied) which fit to front engine mounts on frame with longer bolts (also supplied). Quite easy to fit but be careful not to pinch the hose from the water pump when tightening the engine mount bolts (oops).
Centre & side stands both OK.
