Ive decided to rebuild the tail on my xtx.
Since the kit from off road de is quite expensive ive tried to make one myself.
LED brake light and indicatos from Biltema.

This is what i had to remove , fairly easy.

First i had to cut in the plastic , this is the large piece that is the baggacomparment and brake light housing

Next i tried to make som mockups in aluminium , but ive found out that it took to long time to adjust and alot of work so i did it in paper.

Now i had to make it in alu, and painted it black.
I had to make it quite long since the norwegian license plate it quite big, this came with a side effect.
Now i also had to make som kind of support to the plate to prevent vibrations

Here is the second plate that holds the led lightning. How is riveted to the large plate. The second image shows the oem harness to the brake light , since it has a plug i decided to use this. Wires were cut close to the lamp holder.

First install. Again since the licensplate is so big i had to dublesided tape as you can see here, to prevent it from vibrating. Here you can cleary see the stiffners. I used the original bolts and indicator assy attachment holes for these.
