Power Socket

Does anyone know where i can get the mating female connector for the power take off spare connector behind the facia, i think its the one where the OEM heated grips are wired into
Asked my local dealer who's a **** and he just fobbed me off saying it's not for sale.

Want to hard wire my gps power cable into it to give me switched power and this seems an easy and tidy solution if i can find the mating connector.
Thanks
Paul

I just chopped off the original plug and replaced with a pair of male / female connectors and my GPS works fine, coming on with the ignition as expected. I think that the original connector is something of a peculiar bit and not worth worrying about. Hope this helps.

I just made a new wire from the cable of my rear lighting.
Works the same, but you don't have to chop cables/connectors.

Way easier if you buy this piece of kit. I has auto off, protection, it's waterproof and this way no more bulky car cig lighter parts on your bike.
link
I intend to buy one so let me know if you want one too since we're both from same city we could share the transport.
I also want to buy some water protection for the GPS and I decided on this:

Cheers,

Cheers,
The problem I can see wiring directly to the battery is draining it when stopping and forgetting the GPS or whatever you plug extra on. That's why I was looking for something live only when engine is on - there is this connector behind the dashboard and there is another one under the seat.

There are some pro's to when using a cigarette lighter socket - you can plug almost anything from phone, gps, chargers, compressor, some kind of lighting when camping etc.

Connector

Hi Guys,

After a long trawl i have found a supplier for the connectors.

I have ordered some to make up a GPS power lead for my Garmin 60 CSX.

I will have a number left over .

They come as a kit with the male and female connector.

PM me if interested.

Cheers,

Paul

Hi
I just hard wired in a panel mount fag lighter which I fitted to the plastic cover behingd the L/H indicator.I used the supply behind the headlight panel and just cut the stupid plug off and soldered in the new wiring.. Now have switched power for gizmos.
Super glued the lighter to stop anyone using it and frying my wiring and this just sits in as a cover to stop moisture/crap from getting in.
