Motorcycle Tent.....

Whilst browsing around the camping websites (for something unrelated to XT's) I stumbled upon this :

http://www.sunncamp.co.uk/tents/dome...mx_tourer_plus

It's a tent aimed at the Motorcyle tourer. Brilliant! It stand 2 meters high, has a 'garage' for your bike and sleeps three people.

Hold on. three ? WTF??

So I looked a bit closer, a pack size of 300x300x600 (mm) makes it a sizable tent to haul around, even on a BMUU.....

Then there is the weight, 15Kgs

So, great idea, badly implemented maybe.

Does anyone have one of these ? they look like the dogs doda's but the size and weight.......

It's for the Harley festival crowd, who trailer their bikes (and camping kit) to events...

That's probably why they stick a 160 rrp on it then!

Motorcycling aside, it's not a bad family tent though. Bedroom, decent living area and outside-ish cooking/drinking/watching other put thier tents up in the rain bit...

it could be worse you could have typed the B.......M....... (cutting off fingers with a rusty blade)

Seen those tents before, KTM do one a think. But i cant understand it really, its massive to pack, weights alot so that cuts down a massive market of bikers. For the other few who do want to carry something like that there massive harley/goldwing/BMW wagon would probably not fit in to the bike compartment.

If I were cynical, I'd say it is just a regular 'family' style tent with a lobby, that they have stuck a bike in [or even photoshopped a photo of a bike in] to help flog it to unsuspecting punters at a premium price?

Surely no commercial organisation would stoop to such things?

Anyway, yes, as said above, that tent is a solution looking for a problem
