New ECU vs. old ECU

Hello everyone,

I hope that someone here will be able to help me. My ECU is broken so I ordered a used one with a set of keys and lock via ebay. Unfortunately I didn`t look the year and ordered the ECU for newer model (2007 +), my bike is 2006.

Is it possible to install the new ECU on my bike?
My ECU has 26 pin connector, the new one has 34 pin connector.

Thanks in advance!

I think I found a solution. I checked the wiring diagram on both ECU-s and the only difference, except the connector, is that the new ECU has two more wires (for O2 sensor). So if I get the sensor i think that will be no problem to use new ECU on my bike.

Does anyone know what would happen if I don`t connect O2 sensor?

A Universal sensor will do, the problem will be to find out the connecyors both for the ECU and the sensor.

Have fun,

The ECU's are different, I changed my 07 ECU back to a 05 ECU.

If you are interested I have my 07 complete wiring loom +O2 senor for sale. Or I could swap you for your 06 loom, you pay the postage + a little extra for the O2 sensor. PM me if you are interested.
