Angry Nightmare first ride of the year

Hi, i have just returned from my first days riding in a long time and it was nothing short of a nightmare as my pride and joy was constantly misfiring and cutting out. It does this when coming down the box approaching a junction or bend and when coming to stationary cuts out 8/10 times. I have checked all the things mentioned here before. I know my TPS has been changed etc. The only thing different i have done since getting it out this year is to put some Premium 97 RON fuel in but i have refilled with standard whilst on the run with no change. Could it be the fuel as i have never used 97 RON before and had a perfect couple of years so far. Maybe theres some simple things to try otherwise i will drain the tank and remove it and clean injector etc. Its just unrideable as it is. PLEASE HELP PLEASE

Mick

Hi Mick

If everything was running fine before, and now u have tried different fuel and this is happening, I would go with it being the fuel and would dump the tank and refill with normal fuel, see how that goes. Best of luck fixing the issue

Injectors can get gummed up if you've left it standing for a while. ~I would suggest you leave the premium fuel, and if you can live through a couple fo tank fuels of rough running, it will probably smooth out again.

Next time you store it run some fuel additive through the bike before storing (you can get stuff specifically if you're laying your bike up)

Drain the fuel tank & run some fresh fuel through it.

In the UK petrol now contains up to 5% ethanol. And it goes off quicker as a result. I think ethanol absorbs moisture whch then turns into water.
Don't know how long you had the bike off the road but anything longer than a month either: use fuel stabiliser or drain the tank or fill it up
