Super Ten here at last

I've just seen the official pics of the new Super Tenere 1200 on MCN...
http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/Ne...ealed-at-last/
It looks a bit like a fat Varadero to me, but I'd like to see it in the flesh all the same.

Just another Grand Touring bike that will hardy ever see the dirt. What a disappointment (IMHO).

If it is a toss up between that or a BMW12OOGS Adventure then I know what I would pick.

I will not be rushing out to put a deposit on it.

Hello Ricky.......I see your enjoying your Tenere and putting to good use. Roll on the summer for some dry rides. ................... Was the accident on that bridge? or maybe in the traffic q with someone trying out the ABS?

I thought the new Tenere would be a monster version of our 660's but it looks more like a mix of the TDM, V Strom and GS influences.

just looked at the photos and ok it might look a bit fancy looking until you look at that headlight/fairing combo, from the photos it just looks like a massive lump of funny shaped plastic.

Would like to see it in the flesh, and im still on the idea that a 900CC or something similar would have been good as more off road/touring/traily type bike. Or do people on these sizes of bikes even do off roading?

Having owned a 1150GS adv and read the continued grief with the 1200 on ukgser my money (if I had any) would be on the yam

Depends on the price for me. If the Super ten is a lot cheaper, i would pick that one.

Any price indication already?
answer: 13,499.00 or €15.300 (source: http://www.infinitymotorcycles.com/)

ps. the Yanks are gonna love the wet weight and suspension travel... yawn... here we go again!

I do not like it.

- don't like the headlights
- the screen looks like it has been taken from something else and thrown there
- the fans and radiator on the side are very exposed (any VFR800 owner having dropped his bike will tell you how painful it is)
- exhaust: WTF ?
- tiny front wheel
- presented with road tyres... it says it all... really....
- USD forks with no sleeves ....
- orange indicators ?? even the 660 has clear indies....
- clocks/speedo: look too complicated/distracting to me.

edit:

I just like:
- the fog lights in the accessories list
- the tank pad based on the prototype.
